The Flash

The Flash is what you could consider an action-adventure series.  It's about Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) an assistant police forensic investigator who who was orphaned when his father was falsely imprisoned following the mysterious murder of his mother.  And get this he lived with the cop who put his father in jail.  Anyway the season began with Allen being struck by lightning during a storm caused by a particle accelerator explosion.  Allen is in a coma for 9 months, and when he wakes up he quickly learns that he can move at superhuman speeds.  It would seem that it's a fate that also befalls others in the wake of the explosion, creating several "metahumans." Now Allen can use his newfound power to fight crime and go on a hunt for his mother's actual killer.
